Where’s your economic impact payment? Here’s how to track your stimulus check.

The government began issuing one-time economic impact payments this week.

Most adults who earned up to $75,000 will see a $1,200 payout, while married couples who made up to $150,000 can expect to get $2,400. Parents will get payments of $500 per child.

The checks will be directly deposited into bank accounts or mailed to households, depending on how you’ve filed your tax returns in the past.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has launched a new “Get My Payment” tool which guides citizens through a process where they can submit their social security number and personal bank account information to track when they will receive their check.

It is important to remember to watch out for scammers while checks are being sent out to millions of Americans. The IRS says they are not contacting anyone to collect personal or bank account information.

Any calls, texts, emails, or even official-looking postcards or printouts that suggest otherwise are scams. The agency also warns that checks that appear to show an over-payment are also scams.
