West Harrison Track and Field: Alexis Morris signs with USM

One of the best track and field athletes in the entire state is taking her talents to the next level.

Today, West Harrison’s Alexis Morris signed a national letter of intent with Southern Miss who offered the three-time state champion last week.

The Lady Hurricanes took home the 5A title as a team during her freshman year before taking home back to back individual crowns in discus as a sophomore and junior.

Morris wasn’t able to finish her senior season due to the coronavirus pandemic, but at the time it was canceled she led the entire state, regardless of classification, with a long throw of 122 feet.
