West Harrison High sends donations to Rolling Fork
The senior class at West Harrison High School is providing aid to a Rolling Fork high school that was hit hard by storms.
On March 24th, Rolling Fork was left in shambles after a devastating tornado ripped through town. After hearing about the storms, the West Harrison seniors started a donation drive to provide relief for South Delta High School students, teachers, and staff.
Canned goods, clothes, water, and toiletries were some of the many items that were collected during the donation drive.
West Harrison senior Jordan Turner says it was only right for his class to lend a helping hand. “Ms. Pollard here she wanted to do a special thing for them and help them out and my classmates too. So, me too and deeply in our hearts we care for them and everybody and we wanna help everybody and if anybody else was hit, we’d do it for them too.”
West Harrison High School collected over 1,000 donations that filled a school bus. The donations were taken to the South Mississippi United Methodist Committee on Relief for Agencies to take to Rolling Fork.
