Weather Moves Halloween to Friday

Bay St. Louis and Waveland will be observing Halloween on Friday night instead of Saturday.
Heavy rain is forecasted for Saturday night and the two cities felt it was in the best interest of the community to hold Halloween a day early. Police will block roads that attract the greatest number of trick-or-treaters on Friday night from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Chief of Police Mike DeNardo wants to get the word out to parents about the change of plans. “We have certain areas we barricade off like Old Spanish Trails, Spanish Acres, Martin Luther King Park by St. Francis and Washington Street, Highland Drive, and Corinth. We usually always block those off because they are popular areas for kids to come.”
The public can go out in the rain on Saturday at their own risk.
