Weather causing road flooding, power outages along Coast
City officials and first responders are reporting some issues this morning caused by the weather.
In Biloxi, Cedar Road is closed from the Methodist church to Christian Assembly because of water over the roadway.
Residents in Shoreline Park reported almost a foot of water over streets and yards in the area last night.
This morning, Mississippi Department of Transportation is reporting vehicle accidents at County Farm Road at I-10 in the eastbound lane. The exit is blocked in that direction. And there is a crash on Highway 605 just north of the Intraplex that is causing traffic delays.
And Biloxi Police were working at accident on Eisenhower Drive about 8:30 a.m. that has all lanes closed at the railroad crossing. Motorists should seek alternate routes.
And power companies are working to restore service to customers who are without power this morning.
Pearl River Valley Electric reports about 200 residents without power in Stone County.
As of 8 a.m., Mississippi Power has about 450 customers without power — mainly in its Coast division. Because there is a wind advisory along the Coast until 6 p.m., Coastal customers can expect potential outages until the winds drop later this evening, according to Mississippi Power spokesperson Kaila Moran.
Crews were working in the Gulf Hills area to restore about 300 customers after a tree fell on a power line.
