Waste Management announces suspension of curbside recycling in the City of Moss Point beginning Monday, Sept. 28
Moss Point, Miss. – Due to the impacts of Hurricane Sally along the Northern Gulf Coast, Waste Management is announcing the temporary suspension of curbside recycling in the City of Moss Point, MS.
The recycling facility used to accept, and process recyclables collected from the City of Moss Point’s residents has received major damage from Hurricane Sally and is closed indefinitely. Therefore, Waste Management will suspend those curbside services in the City of Moss Point beginning Monday, Sept. 28, 2020. Waste Management will not empty recycle carts during this temporary suspension.
“Hurricane Sally has presented many challenges and obstacles to Mississippi Gulf Coast communities, and we are working diligently to assist in this huge recovery effort,” said Michael Yarbrough, Sr. District Manager of Waste Management, Gulf Coast Area. “We will resume curbside residential recycling in the City of Moss Point as soon as the site used for processing those recyclables is back in operation. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our Moss Point neighbors, during this difficult time.”
Residential curbside collection of household garbage and trash in City of Moss Point will continue on regularly weekday schedules.
