Walter Anderson Museum Hosts Kids Art Workshop

For many kids on the Coast, Monday was the first day of Christmas vacation, and some of them spent the day being creative.

Monday, the Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs offered an art workshop for children ranging in ages from 5 to 11 years old. The workshop ran all day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The kids learned how to make wood block prints, just like Anderson used to make.

Heather Rumfelt, the Education Director for the Walter Anderson Museum, says, “The younger the better. You start them out young and they have time to perfect or things to look back on, reflect on, experiences as a child. Art is just an incredible way to teach other things as well.”

This is the second time the museum has done a holiday workshop in recent years.
