Walter Anderson Museum Hosts Dr. Seuss Exhibit

The Walter Anderson Museum of Art held a celebration in Dr. Seuss’ honor Monday night.

The museum featured work from local adult artists inspired by the iconic illustrations and books of Dr. Seuss. All people were encouraged to dress in Dr. Seuss inspired costumes and could also enjoy a special preview performance from the cast of Seussical the Musical, coming soon to the Mary C. O’Keefe Center of Arts and Education. Dr. Seuss themed cocktails and light refreshments were also served.

Corey Christy, Director of Marketing and Development for the Walter Anderson Museum, says, “We’re having a celebration for Dr. Seuss’ 111th birthday and we’re featuring local artists, so it’s a good reason to come out and see something different in the museum. So of course we have costumes obviously, food and drink, and all kinds of exciting things tonight.”

Dr. Seuss raffle items were up for grabs and the museum also featured a trapeze artist to entertain guests.
