Walmart closes two more Coast stores for deep cleaning
Walmart announced Tuesday that stores in Lucedale and Pascagoula would be closed as of 2 p.m. for deep cleaning and restocking.
The move is part of the a company plan to allow third-party specialists to deep clean in the stores and then allow employees to restock before re-opening.
The store in Lucedale is at 11228 Old 63 South.
The store in Pascagoula is at 4253 Denny Avenue.
Both stores will re-open at 6 a.m. on Thursday.
“Everything we’re doing is for the well-being of our associates and the thousands of customers we serve daily, and in consideration of guidance by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and health experts,” said Tyler Thomason of Walmart. “Given the rise in positive cases through the Delta variant, we will follow CDC guidance, which includes fully vaccinated people wearing masks in public indoor settings in counties with substantial or high transmission.”
