Voting preparations in Harrison County

With the absentee voting deadline on August 3rd, things are pretty busy for circuit clerks for the coastal counties.

The Harrison County Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, as well as regular hours Monday through Friday to assist.

In regards to Election Day on August 6th, election commissioners wrapped up poll worker training in order for things to run smoothly.

Harrison County Circuit Clerk Connie Ladner tells News 25 it has been a steady flow of absentee voters thus far and hopes for a decent turnout in this year’s primaries. “We have so many vacant seats, from governor to lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, all the way down to some on a local level here in Harrison County. This is an election I feel like people should really stop, take a look, and look at the candidates.”

The deadline for any ballots mailed out to residents in Harrison County is Monday, August 5th at 5 p.m.
