Volunteers needed during the holidays

During last week’s cold front, News 25 told you that the Seashore Mission in Biloxi was worried they would not be able to open their cold weather shelter due to a lack of volunteers.

Thanks to the response from our viewers, The Seashore Mission was able to open their cold weather shelter. Sixty-three people have already signed up for the next time they open their cold weather shelter.

The holiday season is just the beginning and the Seashore Mission still needs volunteers and donations to continue to help those in need.

The mission is in need of paper plates, cups, food, and monetary donations. You can drop off donations during normal business hours at the Seashore Mission. Seashore Mission Executive Director Rev. Elijah Mitchell said, “Well, not only this time of year, but year round. I know a lot of people like to volunteer during the holiday season and one reason is because maybe that is when they can come and they are not at work, but we need volunteers year round. We also need food year round, not just during the holiday season.”

If you would like to volunteer text 228-239-1679.
