Visitor Center Park coming to Biloxi

If you’re looking for a new place to take the family, Biloxi is here to help. Lighthouse Park will soon be the newest park on the coast. The park is located directly off of highway 90, near the Biloxi Visitor Center.
The construction is part two of a city project that began with rebuilding the Visitor’s Center after Hurricane Katrina. Last year, approximately 149,000 tourists came through the Biloxi Visitor Center.
City officials hope visitors walk over from the Visitor Center and enjoy more of our beautiful coast.
“This is going to be a great park. People have seen it evolve over the last several months and now they can see how it’s all taking shape. There’s really going to be something here for everybody. Children’s playground equipment, there’s going to be an elevated walkway that’s going to go through some native planted. There’s going to be an outdoor pavilion that will be great for classrooms to come down and learn about our environment,” said Biloxi Public Affairs Manager, Vincent Creel.
There is no specific completion date for the construction of the park, but city officials say it must be done by June 1st.
