Vigil Held for Teen Killed in Gulfport Over Weekend

Tuesday night, the Gaston Point community held a vigil to remember the life of Raymond Howze III, often referred to as Ray Ray. Church and community leaders called on Tuesday night’s attendees to be vigilant in their community.

Truck Casey, Councilman over Gaston Point, asks anyone who sees criminal or suspicious behavior to not be afraid to call Gulfport Police. The message throughout the night was to not let Howze’s death be in vain and to stand together to protect the community.

One vigil attendee says, “At the blink of an eye it could be your child. I mean, just like turning a light switch off, and it’s just as if was my own.”
