View the Cruise Kicks Off Sunday

Vintage and antique cars will be rolling into Gulfport’s Hardy Court Sunday morning, marking the official start of Cruisin’.
The View the Cruise event is a free event where your dancing shoes may come in handy as various bands perform until the event wraps up at 6 on Sunday.
You can also check out history exhibits, get a taste of local cuisine or play a few games, just keep an eye out for traffic as you travel. Executive Director of Gulfport Main Street Laurie Toups said, “The cruisers, that’s what everyone will be coming to see. They’ll be arriving here early on Sunday morning to get premium positions for their fabulous cars. So, they’ll be parking all along downtown. They will be closing off many of the streets coming into downtown.”
On Sunday, police will be redirecting traffic starting at 17th Avenue on Highway 49, directing them over to 30th and 20th. For these events, city leaders suggest using the CTA parking lot and the old Turan Foley parking lot area just east of the police department on 15th Street.
