VFW Post 5699 hosting mobile food pantry in Ocean Springs Saturday

Members of the Mark Seymour VFW Post 5699 are giving the local community a helping hand.

Saturday, January 16th the Ocean Springs VFW will be hosting a mobile food pantry. It begins at 11 a.m. at the Ocean Springs Civic Center.

Anyone in need of food is welcome to the drive-thru pick up, where free food will be distributed to vehicles as they roll through the mobile pantry. Mark Seymour VFW Post 5699 Commander Lela Bremen said, “This food is coming from Feeding the Gulf Coast. We previously connected with them and did a food drive for veterans. This time we wanted to reach out to our community. Everybody is affected during this pandemic. It’s a way for the VFW to reach out and help our community, and we want to help everybody in this community that we can.”

Residents are asked to remain in their cars as the food is handed out to them. All residents are eligible and food will be given out until it’s all given away.
