Vera Bradley donates to CASA of Harrison County
Earlier today, the Vera Bradley of Gulfport Premium Outlets dropped off blanket donations to the CASA of Harrison County.
The season of giving is slowly approaching and to get a head start, the staff of Vera Bradley in the Gulfport Premium Outlets donated blankets to CASA of Harrison County. Little did they know, it was an item they desperately needed. Executive Director of CASA for Harrison and Stone Counties Jeannie Herrin said, “We advocate for children of all ages, you know from 0-18 and we have many, many, many blankets that are for infants and toddlers, but this is a great gift to us because we don’t have any blankets for older children.”
The Vera Bradley Corporation organization encourages their employees to become emerged in their community and that’s exactly what the Gulfport location did. The blankets were purchased by customers and donated for a much larger effort. Vera Bradley General Manager Allison Roberts said, “Just being able to donate to them and make sure that they have some comfort when they are going through really tough times, I think that is something that my whole team was really excited to participate in. So we decided to get involved and do that donation drive for the blankets. And our customers are just really giving and it went really, really well.”
With the help of partners like Vera Bradley, CASA of Harrison County can continue to provide for children in need. Now with 20 brand new super soft and plush blankets, this is just one thing that can help make a child’s day better. “If we didn’t have these wonderful volunteers, and they are awesome. They give their soul to this organization, they drive, oh my gosh, the miles they drive, the hours that they put in and this is all for helping the children in the community.”
Currently, CASA of Harrison County is accepting donations and now they are in need of Pull-Ups. To donate to this location visit the resource center at 47 Maples Drive in Gulfport.
