Vancleave Public Library holding donation drive for Jackson County Animal Shelter
Vancleave Public Library will host a donation drive for the Jackson County Animal Shelter with ‘a Cause for Paws’ starting tomorrow through March 31st.
The library group is partnering with the Jackson County Animal Shelter to collect pet supplies. Items being taken up for donation include bagged or canned unopened and unexpired food, blankets, towels, treats, litter, and litter boxes and urine pads.
For each donation, you can enter to win one of five vouchers for a $25 voucher off the cost of an adoption. The usual cost of an adoption is $65 per animal which includes spay or neuter, worming, first shots, and micro-chipping. Vancleave Public Library Branch Manager Lauria Barton said, “We are all pet lovers and Jackson County is not a kill-free shelter. So, we wanted to protect these pets as much as we can. We want to meet the needs. We want to help them as much as we can. Keeping a pet costs a lot of money, taking care of all those animals there costs a lot of money.”
Donations can be dropped off during library hours Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
