Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an early-morning incident with a school bus that left an 8-year-old with broken bones.
Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a press release that the Vancleave girl was crossing the westbound lane of Jim Ramsey Road in Vancleave about 6:25 a.m. to get on the school bus when a Nissan car hit the child.
The bus was stopped in the eastbound lane. The child was taken to Ocean Springs Hospital, where she was treated for a broken arm and a broken leg, Ezell said in the press release.
