Valentine’s Day at Bay Cove Senior Center

Valentine’s Day is about expressing your love for the people you care about. New 25’s Jaylon Morris witnessed firsthand at the Bay Cove Senior Care Center in Biloxi how love stands the test of time.
Love has no age limit at the Bay Cove Assisted and Living Memory Care Center where Minister Darlene Carroll surprised senior citizens with Valentine’s Day gifts. “Today is a blessed day for these people here. The Lord has made it possible for us to bring Valentine’s Day cards.”
Director of Business Development with Southern Care Hospice Alisha Plummer partnered with Minister Carroll to make this happen. “It is fulfilling because you can just see the love that they have for one another, but also, we hope they see the love and support they have from the community.”
Delivering cards was just the beginning of the Valentine’s Day festivities, Minister Carroll had the honor of helping four couples renew their vows. “It’s going to be a very special ceremony. We even made certificates that say on this day they renewed their vows,” said Minister Carroll.
Minister Carroll says she doesn’t do these types of things for personal gain. The reason is she wants everyone to know they’re loved. “This didn’t cost us anything but our time. Everybody, not just on Valentine’s Day, but every day can be a little nicer and a little kinder, be more loving to people.”
To put the icing on the cake, Salvage World donated balloons so all of the residents at Bay Cove had smiles on their faces on this lovely Valentine’s Day.
