Vacant Biloxi Homes Saved from Wrecking Ball

A follow-up to a story we brought you earlier this month. Instead of demolishing five vacant houses to make way for the commercial corridor on division between Interstate 110 and the new Keesler Air Force Base gate at Forrest Avenue, four of the homes have been scooped up for relocations by entrepreneurs.

The homes went up for bid several weeks ago, and they were purchased at prices from $2,500 to $5,000 plus relocation costs.

City leaders say money from the sale of these four homes is enough to cover the demolition of the fifth house, a roofless structure, as well as demo of a former medical office building.
