USM-MSU Baseball Rivalry Renewed

2009 and 2010 are the same two years that USM and Mississippi State last played one another in Hattiesburg and Starkville.
That’s all going to change starting next year with the two schools having announced a rivalry renewed earlier this morning. In 2018, the Bulldogs will take a trip to the Hub City for a three game series and the Golden Eagles will return the favor in 2019.
Ever since 2011, both programs have only played once a year at Trustmark Park in Pearl, something that won’t happen again for the next two years. Nonetheless, certainly a fair trade in the eyes of Coach Berry. “I think it’s outstanding for our fan base, I mean for our state. We all want it in every sport, the luxury is with baseball I feel like we’ve always had that agreement within our state with baseball between us, Ole Miss and Mississippi State that we would play. It keeps all the money right here in the state for everybody, and we’re excited about the opportunity next year with them and then returning it in ’19 on the second weekend in Starkville.”
USM has lost five of the last six match-ups to MSU on a neutral field.
