USM Gulf Park’s first day of classes

Today, the University of Southern Mississippi had their first day back to classes and Gulf Park’s campus saw students gearing up for the new semester.

Students were buzzing around campus for the start of classes. The Academic Success Center saw a lot of traffic. They had a lot of students come in to tour the center and to come and get an academic planner the center provides.

There were even students who were already receiving tutoring. Senior Jonathan Rivera said, “My first day I kind of show up and I know we’re going to cover the syllabus and I try to look ahead in some of the reading material. I like to get oriented that way by reading some of the material beforehand.”

Gulf Park is hosting their week of welcome next week which allows student to experience different things on campus.
