USM Gulf Park Installs New Emergency Phones

Students at USM Gulf Park may feel safer walking around campus this semester thanks to new Code Blue emergency phones installed in several locations.
Officials say the installation of the six new phones is an extra way to make emergency calls more convenient.
Vice President of the Gulf Park Campus Dr. Steve Miller says as the campus continues to grow with new facilities, more activities, and a larger student population, an extra measure of safety is important. “It’s a fantastic enhancement to safety and security on this campus. We’re really glad to have them in place now. This campus has primarily had a lot of afternoon, evening and night classes, so that just adds another measure of safety for those students coming and going at night time.”
The university is expecting to add an additional Code Blue emergency phone when their new College of Business and Health building is complete.
