USM Gulf Park Hosts Showcase

More than 200 students from surrounding high schools and community colleges got a taste of the life of a Golden Eagle.
Today, USM’s Gulf Park campus had the chance to show off all they have to offer prospective students during their 2016 showcase. The free event featured representatives from the university’s six different colleges providing insight about the different programs they have to offer. News 25 spoke with some of the students who were eager to explore the school’s myriad of opportunities.
West Harrison High School senior Stacie Borzik said, “I’m really looking for a college that is willing to help and puts forth what they’re about.”
Prospective student Edwin Iocca said, “USM offers a lot of different varieties of education, opportunities.I think in college that’s the most important part is opportunities because you get opportunities, you can do anything.”
The prospective students had the chance to participate in workshops, meet admissions representatives, tour campus and even enjoyed a complimentary lunch.
