USM/Biloxi alum Tim Jones signs with Jacksonville Jaguars as undrafted free agent

Former Southern Miss Wide Receiver Tim Jones has a new home at the next level as an undrafted free agent signee of the Jacksonville Jaguars where’ll be catching passes from the number one overall pick Trevor Lawrence.

The Biloxi High School alum went unselected by all 32 teams in this year’s draft, but was quick to make good on his future in the NFL.

Jones declared for the draft in January, forgoing his final year of eligibility at USM. He’s one of the most productive wideouts to ever put on a black and gold uniform with 150 career receptions for more than 2,000 yards and nine touchdowns.

Southern Miss currently has 11 former players on active NFL rosters and 30 percent of the league is undrafted.
