US Marshals arrest Louisiana man in Bay St. Louis wanted for the murder of his girlfriend

GULFPORT – The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force announces the arrest of Dennis Sheppard.  Sheppard was wanted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for the strangulation death of his former girlfriend which occurred on November 2, 2020.

At 10:00a.m., US Marshals developed information that Sheppard may currently be in Bay St. Louis, MS.  Marshals canvased the area and was able to determine that Sheppard was residing at the Motel 6 in Bay St. Louis, MS.

With the assistance of the Bay St. Louis Police Department, Sheppard was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Hancock County Jail where he was booked for second degree Murder pending his extradition back to Louisiana.
