Update: one injured in Friday shooting in Pascagoula

The Pascagoula Police Department has released an update to the shooting that happened Friday outside Jerry Lee’s grocery store.

Police say that 79-year-old Murphy Jenkins shot 61-year-old Steve Barrow during a verbal disagreement while in the parking lot of Jerry Lee’s last Friday.

Barrow received non-life threatening injuries to his leg and was treated at Singing River Hospital.

Charges are pending at this time as this is an active investigation.

Police say this occurrence was not gang affiliated and drugs were not involved.
