Update on City of Biloxi projects

Biloxi Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich is back from meeting with state legislators about three important city projects.
Mayor Gilich took a trip to Washington, D.C. to speak with the Mississippi delegation. They discussed the funding backing the Keesler Air Force Base gate and the economic corridor along Division Street, acquiring federal funding for the restoration work needed at Saenger Theatre and securing some federal funding for building a roadway connecting road I-110 to Beach Boulevard. Vincent Creel with the City of Biloxi Public Affairs said, “These are all big multi-million dollar issues. They happen to be in Biloxi, but they’re not just about Biloxi. There are tens of thousands of visitors that are going to use that new road that’s going to go from I-10 all the way to Beach Boulevard and the Saenger Theatre is in Biloxi, but it hosts an audience that’s all along the Gulf Coast.”
City officials tell News 25 the meeting was successful and the city will just have to wait and see if the funding comes forward.
