Update on Bell Ringing Record
Jamie Richardson passed the halfway point of breaking the world record of ringing the Salvation Army bell for over 150 consecutive hours.
His mission began Monday at midnight outside of the Walmart Supercenter on CT Switzer Road in Biloxi. He continues to ring the bell for the Red Kettle Campaign with little sleep and food. He can take a five minute break every hour if he needs one.
Richardson tells News 25 the community support encourages him to stay strong and the mission behind the Salvation Army keeps his morale high. “Little tired, maybe, but I’m hanging in there. I’m good. Hurting a little bit, but I’m okay. Like I said, we’re almost at the end or it seems like we’ve made a turn in this so that’s good.”
The public is encouraged to cheer Richardson on as he breaks the record this Sunday at 7 a.m.
