University of Mississippi Medical Center aircare launches fixed-wing aircraft

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is expanding its aircare program with a new fixed-wing craft.

Aircare 5 is now operational, giving UMMC another way to transport patients who need specialized care over long distances.

The aircraft can carry patients from rural and community hospitals to the medical center for critical services including trauma, stroke, transplant, neonatal, burn, and cardiac care.

This addition will bridge gaps in access to specialized care.
