United Way of South Mississippi annual Diaper Drive

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day the United Way of South Mississippi joins the nation in making it a day of service.

The organization kicked off its annual diaper drive to assist families throughout the area.  Unopened boxes of diapers can be donated at drop-off locations inside of Walmart Supercenters across the Coast.

United Way CEO Kathy Springer says it is important to take care of the community. “We’re all about supporting families and keeping families healthy and happy. And a diaper that goes unchanged can lead to skin breakdown or can lead to infection and so we want to make sure that every family that needs them can have access to them.”

A drop-off bin will also be in the lobby of the Knight Nonprofit Center in Gulfport. Donations can be dropped off through mid-February. Other employers like Coast Electric Power Association, Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort, Clear Families Chiropractic, Harrah’s Gulf Coast, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and the Chemours Delisle Plant will hold internal drives.
