Unique group of 2017 Biloxi Sports Hall of Fame inductees

Hometown legends are soon to receive the honor of being inducted into the Biloxi Sports Hall of Fame.
This year, four sets of brothers head the 19 inductees that will join the others on the wall of Biloxi standouts in history. That includes long time Biloxi High School coaches Joe and Frank Sabbatini, along with Biloxi High School football players Gene, Billy Ray, and John Allen plus Clinton and John Tapper.
John Tapper, who also coached locally and played defense for USM, tells News 25 he’s very honored to have the privilege to become a hall of famer. “I was elected captain by my teammates. That was a big honor and went to college and played there, that was fun. It’s a great honor. It really is and to run with this class, it’s a bunch of friends. I have a personal experience with everyone going in, except for one guy but I watched him play when he was younger.”
The ceremony will be held Sunday, August 27th at the Biloxi Civic Center.
