Uber headed to Biloxi-Gulfport International Airport

You now have another option when traveling to and from the Biloxi-Gulfport International Airport.
The Airport Authority approved an agreement that will allow Uber to operate on the grounds starting November 16th. The competing ride-sharing service, Lyft, started operating from the airport back in June.
While many travelers are excited for another transportation option, some taxi drivers are upset about the new addition. Local Taxi Driver Steven Hoyt said, “We all work for ourselves. We’re all independent. So, all the money we make here, these are full-time jobs where we make the money, we spend the money here locally. We buy services here, we pay all this. Then when Uber comes in, they have lower cost, they don’t have the same insurance fees that we have. They don’t pay the same fees for other things.”
The Uber pick-up location will be in the Ground Transportation Lane near the front of the terminal.
