A devastating morning for one family as the boat they lived in was completely destroyed in a fire.

Biloxi firefighters rescued two people trapped on a burning boat early this morning at Point Cadet Marina in Biloxi.

Fire crews arrived on scene around 3:30 this morning to the boat engulfed in flames. The owners of the boat tell News 25 the fire started in the back of the boat and they were able to get to the front to be rescued.

The owners lived on the boat full time for the last 13 years and now they don’t have a place to call home.

News 25 had an exclusive interview with the boat owners who are keeping their positive attitudes despite the negative circumstances. Boat owner Robby Bendall said, “We were full time live on boarders for 13 years. We don’t have what we call a dirt house. We just have a boat or had the boat. We are just going to punch the reset button and start all over.”

Officials are unsure of what caused this fire, but we will keep you updated if we learn more details.
