Two inmates die in Mississippi prisons

The Mississippi State Department of Corrections says autopsies will be done on two inmates who died during the past week.

Quintez Hodges was pronounced dead Saturday at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. He was sentenced to death in September 2001 for a capital murder conviction in Lowndes County.

Wayne Humphrey died Sunday at Stone County Hospital in Wiggins. He was serving a 25-year sentence at the Stone County Regional Correctional Facility for convictions on residential burglary and unlawful touching of a child.

He was sentenced in August 2007 in Jackson County.

At least 18 Mississippi inmates have died this year.
