Two Gautier men charged in string of auto burglaries in St. Andrews community

Two Gautier men are charged in a string of auto burglaries in the St. Andrew’s community early Tuesday morning. At least 12 vehicles, all of them unlocked, were burglarized between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Twenty-three year-old Benjamin Green and 20-year-old Bobby Lowe were arrested early Tuesday afternoon after search warrants were served at each of their own homes in Gautier. Sheriff Mike Ezell says investigators recovered four firearms that were stolen, along with various other items.

The sheriff says surveillance video and witness statements helped investigators make the arrests.

Green and Lowe are each charged with auto burglary. Lowe is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is on probation for an unknown felony with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Both men are jailed in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
