Only two arrests made at Pass Parade
It was another exciting year for the people in Pass Christian as they celebrated their annual Mardi Gras parade.
Despite the bad weather, around 40,000 people showed up to watch the floats roll on. The parade started at 12 p.m. and ended at 3 p.m.
During that time, Pass Christian police only had to make one arrest to an adult for providing false information. After the parade, one more arrest was made for assault and disorderly conduct.
The Pass Christian Police Department has been working hard to bring crime down during the parade. Police Chief Timothy Hendricks says he was extremely pleased with the results. “Well, we are trying to learn from each year. So, we take feedback from the community, business owners, and also a debriefing within the department of what worked well for us and what we can make adjustments with. So, we try to implement those changes each year to make it safer, more family friendly, and a better parade.”
Chief Hendricks says next year will be even better with more people, more floats, and a more family friendly atmosphere.
