Two people are charged with armed robbery that occurred in the Big Point community of Jackson County on Saturday night.

Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a press release that deputies arrested Xavier Spivery, 27, of Pascagoula, and Faith Pritchett, 30, of Mobile on charges of armed robbery.

According to Ezell, Spivery and Pritchett allegedly held up the Dollar General store about 8 p.m. Responding deputies spotted the suspects’ car at a red light on Highway 613.

When the light changed, Spivery took off at a high rate of speed, Ezell said. The pursuit continued until the vehicles reached Highway 63 in the Moss Point city limits.

Spivery then exited the vehicle and ran into the woods. Pritchett stayed in the car, Ezell said.

With the help of a K-9 and Moss Point Police, deputies found Spivery and arrested him.  Both suspects were taken to the Jackson County jail.

County Court Judge Mark Watts denied bond for both suspects. They will be in court again on December 13, 2021 for a preliminary hearing.
