Trump Jr. on Mississippi Flag
Let it fly, that’s the statement from the Trump campaign regarding the Mississippi state flag.
Our flag is the only one missing at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia after protesters calling the flag racist sat in the street until Mississippi’s flag was removed from display.
During Donald Trump Jr.’s visit to the Neshoba County Fair Tuesday, he said he supports what many in our state call “the southern heritage” displayed in our state flag. “I believe in traditions. I don’t see a lot of the nonsense that was created with some of these things. Those are issues and I understand how people feel about some of them, but leaving some of the traditions the way they are in this country, there’s nothing wrong with some tradition.”
Mississippi is the only state in the nation with a flag that still includes the controversial emblem.
