Truck Crashes into Power Pole in Pass Christian

A man was stuck in the cab of his 18-wheeler for nearly two hours today after his truck carrying a load crashed into a power pole this morning.
The accident happened to a Mississippi Power main transmission line at West North Street and Henderson Avenue in Pass Christian.
When the driver tried to back up, the truck got tangled in the power line and pulled the pole on top of the truck.
In order to safely remove the driver from his truck, some residents of Henderson Avenue experienced a power outage for several hours. Pass Christian Police Chief Tim Hendricks said, “There were several trucks up here meeting and they were getting ready to transport their load somewhere else. Two of the vehicles, two of the trucks, left. The third truck swung a little wider, caught the transmission lines. It snapped the pole, causing the pole to come on top of the 18-wheeler.”
The driver safely exited the truck unharmed. Mississippi Power has replaced the line.
