‘Tripoli’ delivered to the U.S. Navy

The ‘Tripoli’ will be commissioned later this year before docking at its homeport in San Diego.

This amphibious assault ship was delivered to the U.S. Navy today. It’s the 15^th large deck amphibious ship built at Ingalls and will be the flagship of an amphibious ready group when it enters the fleet.

The ship will be used to strategically position units ashore across a full spectrum of missions including humanitarian, disaster relief, security, anti-piracy, and other operations while providing air support for group forces.
