Trike-A-Thon for Ariana

Sacred Heart pre-k students were triking around the school parking lot, raising awareness and funds for their classmate Ariana Farragut who is fighting a rare form of brain cancer.
The public was invited to come out and donate for Ariana and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in exchange for paper hearts for Ariana’s banner the students created. Together they spent their morning on their tricycles while learning the importance of bike safety.
Ariana was diagnosed with cancer back in December 2016 and has been back and forth to St. Jude’s throughout the year. Assistant Teacher Mary Orman said, “The children here also have learned that giving is helping so many people. They enjoy, whenever we would give them a paper heart, they would enjoy the thought of writing their name and writing a message for Ariana. It’s a wonderful feeling for them.”
Throughout the week, the school was able to collect over one thousand dollars for St. Jude’s and Ariana and her family.
