Travel trailer and workshop destroyed in fire in Harrison County

What started as a controlled burn in Harrison County ended up igniting and destroying a workshop this morning.

According to Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan, the fire was reported around 8:30 today. Embers from a brush pile being burned landed on a wood pile next to a workshop filled with motorcycle and lawn equipment.

The homeowner thought the pile was extinguished when he reportedly walked away from the controlled burn.

Winds caused embers to ignite the wood pile next to the shop and by the time the owner noticed, it the fire grew too large for him to control.

No injuries were reported, but the shop and the equipment were all destroyed in the fire.
