Travel Predictions and Gas Prices for Labor Day Weekend
Hopefully you won’t get behind in your Labor Day weekend travel, but you can expect more people on the roads and in the air.
According to AAA, travel this three-day holiday weekend will increase by four percent compared to this time last year.
The Labor Day weekend is typically the third most traveled holiday in the US.
And while an estimated 35 million drivers will be on the road, there is some good news for those of planning to drive this weekend.
Gas prices have dropped considerably.
According to Gas Buddy, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $2.17, holding steady with yesterday’s price.
That’s down 16 cents a gallon from a month ago and down a whopping 37 cents a gallon from this time last year.
Flying J on Canal Road has the lowest average of $1.99 per gallon.
