Train carrying vehicles derails in Moselle, Mississippi

A train derailed in Moselle, Mississippi this morning.

A number of Jones County volunteer fire departments responded to the derailment. Norfolk Southern runs the train and company crews and hazmat crews are on their way to help clean up the site.

The cleanup may take two to three days. The train was carrying vehicles as well as polyvinyl and acetone. There are no reports of injuries.

The derailment will affect rail traffic between Meridian and New Orleans.
