Traffic stop leads to arrests in drug, weapons case

George County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop.

Deputies with the George County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling in the Brushy Creek Road area of Rocky Creek on Oct. 22 when they made a traffic stop about 7:30 p.m. in the area of X.A. Wilson Road.

Brian Anthony Harris, 43, and Robert Lee Holland, 41, both of Lucedale, were found to be in possession of a large quantity of illegal drugs, as well as two firearms, in the vehicle.

Harris and Holland were taken into custody and taken to the George County Regional Correctional Facility. Both are charged with possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine) and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Additionally, Harris has a hold for probation violation for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Bonds were issued to both subjects in the amount of $20,000 each, and Harris is currently in custody at the GCRCF awaiting extradition by MDOC.
