Traffic plan for Gulf Coast Carnival Association Parade

With the Gulf Coast Carnival Association parading in downtown Biloxi tomorrow, the city has a few reminders.

With tomorrow’s parade stretching longer than any other Biloxi parade, it hits a lot of construction zones. All roads that will be paraded down are paved permanently or temporarily.

Starting at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Highway 90 from Porter to Main Street will be reduced to two-way traffic. Starting at noon, I-110 southbound will also be closed. Multiple roads north and south of the railroad tracks will be closed to traffic during parade time as well.

The City of Biloxi says it is a safe bet to just follow the instructions of the police of these roads. Cecilia Watson with the City of Biloxi says, “We just want to make sure that everyone knows that the parade route is in a construction area. So, just be mindful. Be mindful of the nearby roads because some may be closed and just be cautious. Just obey the laws, make sure that you listen to the police officers. They are out there to make sure that you have a good time and a safe time.”

The Gulf Coast Carnival Association Parade will start at 1 p.m.
