Update: I-10 in Jackson County back open after two-vehicle crash
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A two-vehicle accident on I-10 in Jackson County caused temporary traffic disruptions Wednesday before all lanes were reopened.
The crash occurred near the 55-mile marker on the westbound side of I-10.
According to initial reports, the collision involved two vehicles and resulted in one person being transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
During the incident, one of the vehicles crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and overturned. This caused traffic delays on the eastbound side of the interstate as emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to clear the wreckage.
Officials have since confirmed that all lanes of Interstate 10 have been fully reopened, and traffic flow has returned to normal.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
