Toys for Tots Drive at Woolmarket Elementary
The Beta Club at Woolmarket Elementary School has been collecting toys for the Toys for Tots Program since mid-November and today they wrapped up the donations.
Local marines came to pick up the toys today and they had boxes filled to the top. The Beta Club’s original goal was 250 toys, but the school surpassed that. The total was 1,347 toys. Beta Club sponsor Alyson Fallo says the donations were slow to start off, but after Thanksgiving it really took off.
Woolmarket is proud of their students for bringing in so many toys while getting into the Christmas spirit. “It was just great seeing how excited our students got about it and once they really realized the bigger picture with helping those that are in need that’s what really made it special. I could tell that that really hit the heart of some of my students and I think just around school that’s what triggered all of the toys start coming in,” said Fallo.
Woolmarket Elementary hopes to see this out pour of giving in their Toys for Tots drive next year.
