Toy Drive in Gulfport

The Mississippi Rainbow Center is helping to make a little child’s Christmas a little brighter.
They hosted a toy drive at the Courthouse Pier on Saturday and they plan to host two more next weekend. You can drop off a new unwrapped toy, cash, VISA, or Walmart gift cards at the AIDS Walk in Ocean Springs this weekend. All donations will go to Harrison County DHS and Hancock County CASA.
Molly Kester with the Mississippi Rainbow Center tells News 25 that they planned for both Harrison County and Hancock County because the large number of foster children throughout them. “Between the two of them, there is over 1,200 kids in foster care and during this time, so many of them go without even a single toy so we are trying to gather up toys, money, gift cards, a lot of the older kids that’s what they want and we also have a Paypal account. Bring the toys, get a peppermint stick, a lollipop, and a big hug.”
